History of McDonough ParkMcDonough Park opened in 1958 as Shuron Park. In 1971 the stadium was dedicted in memory of Joseph McDonough the former General Manager of Geneva Community Sports, Inc. From 1958 until 1993 McDonough Park played host to many Class A professional baseball teams including the Cubs, Senators, Twins, Pirates, and Red Legs. Since 1993 the park has been rescued from the demolition ball and has hosted teams from the NYCBL (New York Collegiate Baseball League). The NYCBL teams have included the Lakers and the current Red Wings. 6/7/2006 NEW photos of McDonough! From centerfield (Top) and from second base (Bottom)

Along with these updates the concourse has been repaved, and the field is in the best shape it has been in years. Come on out and see all that McDonough has to offer.
