Geneva Completes Double-Header Sweep of Jamestown


Geneva completes a sweep of their doubleheader against the Jamestown Jammers at home. Highlights of each game include:

Game 1: Win 5-3.

Geneva Pitcher #27 Jack Collins (College of Charleston) threw for 6 full innings racking up 6 strikeouts, and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. Jamestown Pitcher #30 Isaiah Moten (Cal State – Bakersfield) took the loss on the mound for the first game of the doubleheader.

Red Wings Pitcher #2 Joey Haass (Univ. of Delaware) came into the game in the seventh inning to close pitching a 1-2-3, with 2 strikeouts.

Other key Red Wings players were #13 Austin Jackson (Menodocino CC) who had 3 hits and 1 RBI, #20 Jack Harris (San Francicso State) had 1 RBI, and #1 Justin Etts (NJIT) also had 1 RBI. Game 2 of the double header against Jamestown followed, both games were 7 innings.

Game 2: Win 6-0.

Red Wings Pitcher #32 Brett Super (Pomona Pitzer College) pitched 5 full innings, he had 4 strikeouts and no runs were scored as he finished with the win on the mound for Geneva. Jamestown Pitcher #9 Trevor Lloyd (Tusculum College) took the second loss of the doubleheader for the Jammers.

#20 Jack Harris (San Francicso State) had himself another great game with 2 hits for 2 RBI’s and 1 home run. Another star Red Wing was #13 Austin Jackson (Menodocino CC) who had 1 RBI and 2 hits. For game 2, 5 runs were scored in the 2nd inning and 1 run was scored in the 5th inning.
