Geneva Red Wings welcomes back Coach Dan Shwam

GENEVA: Coach Dan Shwam will be back at the helm for another season as the head coach for the Geneva Red Wings. Shwam lead the Geneva Red Wings in 2017 to a 29-21 season taking the team to the post season for the first time since joining the PGCBL. Coach Shwam said “It goes without saying that we are very glad to be back. I though we made great strides last season and are very excited to work hard to bring a championship to Geneva. We love the community and the fans are so passionate about their baseball that it makes it a pleasure coming to the park every day.”

With him, he brings over 30 years of coaching and managerial experience and five professional championships. Throughout his 21 seasons in Indy ball, 16 as a manager, he built a legacy as one of independent baseball’s all-time winningest skippers with over 650 victories.

The Salt Lake City, Utah, resident is no stranger to the PGCBL spending 2 seasons coaching the Victor RailRiders. Shwam also coached the Cooperstown Hawkeyes for a year and spent 3 seasons with the Elmira Pioneers.

The Geneva Red Wings will celebrate this summer as McDonough Park turns 60 years old. The Red Wings are set to return on June 2, 2018 for opening day against the Newark Pilots. This is the third season that the Geneva Red Wings are a part of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
