AUBURN, NY- The Red Wings traveled off to Auburn for their first matchup of the 2025 season against the Doubledays. Geneva would look to play spoiler in the Doubledays’ home opener.

The Red Wings had some fresh faces in the lineup this time around, with third basemen Michael Sardou leading the offense and starting pitcher Jake Short commanding the mound.
Sardou generated 2 of the Red Wings' 5 hits and also helped drive home one of their runs with an RBI in the 2nd inning to bring home Sam Fleming. The Red Wings would score another run in the 3rd inning to extend their lead to 2-0, before falling behind in the bottom half of the 3rd.
Short had a solid start for the Red Wings, pitching 6 innings and striking out 5 Doubleday batters. Short’s efforts, however, would prove not to be enough, as Geneva fell to Auburn and will look for redemption back at McDonough Park tomorrow night as they take on the Jamestown Tarp Skunks at 6:30 PM. Be sure to order your tickets today at GenevaRedWings.com or stop by the gate on gameday.
