Wings Stomp the Pioneers to Move to 4-1

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Geneva Red Wings move to 4-1 on the 2018 season with a win over the Elmira Pioneers 2-0. Another chilly night at McDonough park had fans piling in to catch the Wings, hoping for another thriller after their home win last night over the Pilots in 10 innings.

The Wings first run was scored after DH #26 Langston Livingston (St. Josephs Univ.) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, sending his teammate in to score. Livingston finished the night with 1 hit, and made it to base 3 separate times after being walked. Pitcher #27 Jack Collins (College of Charleston) threw 7 scoreless innings for the win, while #4 Trace Holder (Southern Alabama) closed the game to earn the save on the mound.

For the Pioneers, Pitcher #25 Rhyse Dee (Wake Forest) nabbed the loss as the Pioneers drop to 1-3 on the season.

The Red Wings will be back in action Friday, June 8th as they travel to rival Newark to play the Pilots for the second time this season. Geneva will be back home Saturday, June 9th looking for redemption against the Jamestown Jammers, as this will be their second meeting of the summer.
