HOT START NOT ENOUGH FOR RED WINGS IN JAMESTOWN

JAMESTOWN, NY- The Red Wings traveled to Jamestown for the first time this season as they continued their week-long road trip, looking to pick up a win against the Tarp Skunks.

Center fielder Jordan Perry led the offense with 2 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 2 stolen bases.
Center fielder Jordan Perry led the offense with 2 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 2 stolen bases.

The Red Wings came out swinging to start the 1st inning. Three hits from Elijiah Benton, Matt Beuka, and Tyler Skaggs opened up a 5 run inning for Geneva. With the bases loaded thanks to center fielder Jordan Perry being walked, Elijiah Benton hitting a single, and Michael Sardou being hit by a pitch, it was Aiken Santana who helped the first Red Wings run across after being hit by a pitch.

A big swing from Matt Beuka would help drive two more runners across home plate and find Beuka on second base with Santana on third. A wild pitch would help Santana reach home safely, and a Tyler Skaggs single would bring Beuka home.

The Red Wings would fail to score another run for the rest of the game, however, and give up 9 runs in the bottom of the 5th to seal their fate.

The Red Wings are back home on Saturday to take on the Elmira Pioneers at 6:30 pm and then travel across the border for a doubleheader on Sunday against the Niagara Ironbacks.
