GENEVA, NY- Following their week-long road trip, the Red Wings played host to the Elmira Pioneers in just their second home game of the season.

After falling behind early in the 3rd inning, the Red Wings would look to rally back in the 8th inning. A single from Zach Banks would help bring home Dylan Wolfson after a pitch hit him to begin the inning, to start the scoring. The second run of the 8th inning would come from another pitching error, this time being a wild pitch by Elmira to help Zach Banks come home safely.
The Red Wings' comeback efforts would fall short, however, despite phenomenal pitching performances from both relievers John McGowan and Micah Sanders. Sanders would go 3.1 innings and tally 4 strikeouts, giving up 1 run, but not allowing a hit. McGowan would go 1.2 innings, with 4 strikeouts of his own. He also did not allow a hit, but gave up 1 run.
The Red Wings will travel across the border for a doubleheader on Sunday against the Niagara Ironbacks, with game one set to begin at 1:05 pm.
