GENEVA, NY- There will be a new face in the dugout for the Geneva Red Wings this Summer. The Red Wings have named former MLB scout and Daytona Beach Christian University Head Coach Thomas Eaton as the team manager for the 2025 PGCBL Summer season. Coach Eaton will look to lead a new-look Geneva squad into the PGCBL Playoffs this Summer.

Eaton, a former scout for the Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds, and Los Angeles Dodgers, brings a winning mentality and extensive championship experience to Geneva, having won a World Series ring with the Dodgers. Eaton, who also served as a recruiting coordinator for the Johnson C. Smith University Baseball Team (2006-2013), sure has an eye for talent, helping the team win a division title in 2008. In his prolific coaching career, Eaton has coached many Collegiate All-Americans and sent several players to the next level.
This is not Eaton’s first rodeo in the PGCBL, as he spent two Summers with the Batavia Muckdogs as a pitching coach. Eaton helped lead Batavia to back-to-back regular season division titles and an appearance in the PGCBL Championship Series back in 2022. Eaton did not disappoint as the leader of the bullpen in Batavia. In 2022, he helped coach the PGCBL Pitcher of the Year, University of Rochester Pitcher Nolan Sparks, and had the team's ERA sitting at 3.51 at the end of the regular season. In 2023, the Batavia bullpen reached even higher heights and saw its team ERA drop to 2.75 at season’s end. Eaton also sent 2023 Muckdogs Pitcher Jack Keeler to the Missoula Paddleheads, who are the MLB Pioneer League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
This past Summer, Eaton served as the head man for the Rochester Ridgemen in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL), leading them to the second round of the playoffs, where they fell to the eventual champion Syracuse Salt Cats. Eaton was also the owner and executive director of the Charlotte Crushers Summer Collegiate Baseball Team and has helped many young athletes grow and compete at higher levels of play, while creating a positive playing environment. Eaton also served as the Field Manager for the United States Military All-Star Baseball Team.
“I hope to create something special in Geneva this Summer and see all the fans come out and support this season!” Eaton said
The Red Wings' first home game is June 4th against the Newark Pilots at 6:30 pm at McDonough Park. The Red Wings open the 2025 Summer season on the road in Newark on June 3rd at 6:30 pm at Colburn Park.
