LEECH SHINES ON MOUND, BUT RED WINGS FALTER AGAIN

GENEVA, NY- The Red Wings returned home to McDonough Park to take on their bitter rivals, the Newark Pilots.

The Red Wings fell behind early, but were able to match the Pilots with a run in the 4th inning. A Sam Fleming double was able to bring home Braden Freeman to tie the game for Geneva.


Preston Leech shined on the mound for the Red Wings in relief of starter Michael Ucci. Leech went 5 strong innings and had 3 strikeouts, while giving up 1 hit and no runs to the Pilots' offense.


Ultimately, the Red Wings fell short once again, moving to 1-14 on the season. Geneva is off on Monday, but will travel to Newark looking for redemption on Tuesday night.
