It only took 8 innings to slay the Doubledays, who struggled to deal with the outstanding pitching from the Geneva bullpen. Starting pitcher Micah Sanders held down the fort for 4 innings, striking out 7 Doubledays batters and not giving up a single run on just 2 hits. Jack Turner would come in relief for Sanders and provide another solid 2.2 innings, racking up 2 strikeouts. Turner would give up the sole run on the evening, but only allow 2 hits in his efforts. Ian Babey would come in to close out the final 1.1 innings of play and strike out 2 more Doubledays batters on the way to a Red Wings’ victory. Babey would not allow a single hit in his 1.1 innings of play.

The Red Wings offense was hot yet again, racking up 11 runs on 9 hits. Led by the two extra hitters in the lineup, Zach Banks and Michael Ucci, six different Red Wings were able to contribute a hit to the lineup. Michael Ucci led the way, going a perfect 3-3, with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Banks would add 2 more hits, with 2 RBIs and a double in the bottom of the 2nd to give the Red Wings a 3-0 lead.

The second extra base hit would come in the bottom of the 5th inning. JD Robinson would pinch-hit for Casey Burcroff in the bottom of the 5th inning and make his presence felt immediately with a double to give the Red Wings an 8-0 lead.

The Red Wings would walk off the Doubledays in the 8th inning after taking a 10-run lead on a throwing error by the Doubledays catcher, which allowed Aiken Santana to reach home safely.

The Red Wings hit the road to take on the Elmira Pioneers at Dunn Field on June 27th, with a first pitch scheduled for 6:30 pm, before returning home for First Responders Night against the Auburn Doubledays on June 28th.
